The security database on the server does not have a computer account for this workstation trust relationship.
This error occurs when the computer starts up before you reach a logon screen. I have come across this problem when I have renamed a windows 7 computer on a domain, although I’m sure this can occur at other times.
The solution I found to fix the issue is as follows. :
- Log on locally to the workstation and remove the computer from the domain and restart
- Delete the computer from the active directory on your domain controller.
- After reboot on the workstation, log on locally and add the workstation to the domain and restart.
- You should no longer get the error message. Don’t forget to move the computer back into its correct location in the active directory to pick up your correct policies.
